Dyson DC24 Ball All-Floors Upright Vacuum Cleaner
I bought the DC-24 to replace a small vacuum and was my first Dyson purchase (although I have used them regularly in the past). I would not recommend this vacuum to replace a dedicated large upright. Dyson uses "air watts" to indicate the strength of vacuum cleaners and DC-24 has 115 air watts vs. 220 watts for air DC-25 and DC-15. Not knowing how many watts the second air cleaner is used, I can only guess similar comparisons with other brands.

DC-24 vacuum is easy to 05.11 pounds (16.1 pounds DC25 and DC15 £ 19.95) and can go up and down stairs without difficulty (3 story apartment). Actually, I instead of using the hose attachment for stairs prefer to use the vacuum itself. It has a nicely placed handle in front of this function (as a weed trimmer). You must stand out from the body, because the brushes do not spin if the device is positioned upright.
Although lightweight, lower power, it has consistently been a week and still get a lot of dirt and dog hair from carpet.
The "Ball" to vacuum in order to access small, hard to reach areas without using the attachment. It is similar to using a rotating head on a mop. It handles my wood floor well, and have now replaced my sweeper.
No-mess tins easy to dump out with just a touch.
The washable HEPA filter. This is one reason I do not have a problem with paying more for a Dyson. Effective Hepp filtration requires regular replacement, which provides up to extra dollars. Dyson solves this with an easy clean filters.
5 year warranty. You will probably see a disturbing feeling when it's out of the box and it seems flimsy. I usually destroy the vacuum, vacuum, and so far have held up well. I think skinny-esteem comes from the flexibility, alignment and ball points. Believe me, I've dropped it a few times down a staircase on the hardwood and it still looks and acts like good news.
Compact storage ... That goes hand in hand with low weight, but also telescopes in height to fit under the shelves for storage.
Coolest Dyson feature for me is that no tool brushbar access / removal. Makes it very easy to remove obstacles from brushbar without a toolbox.

The attachment is difficult to convert, this is not unique to this Dyson model. Some cleaver engineer came up with a way to do this Annex is compact and clear, but impossible to convert the first 10-15 times you use it. Dyson need expensive models that are easier to use attachments. After using their products for a while, I have become a Dyson attachment Jedi Master.
The hose attachment is short. It can not reach my 10 'ceiling without lifting the bottom up from the floor. I recommend Dyson flexible connection to dust and / or cobwebs.

Other notes
=================
The vacuum has problems with large objects (clumps of dog toys filling) that large voids do not normally hiccups on. It either does not have the height of the brush head or the plumbing for large objects. It is not really a negative for me because I learned early to pick up large items that can ruin a perfectly functioning normally aspirated engine. I did not have the same problem with just using the attachment.
